For my side projects, I’ve been working towards a nice modular unit of scale, in which a compute unit (VM) delivers services glued together by the excellent NATs.

A Penny Drops Other than virtual machines serving functions I can’t live without (Docker, CCTV, file storage etc), I begrudge turning more servers on because the hassle outweighs the gain.

This blog post / write-up is long overdue. I’m the guy that’s gone from electronics and hardware person, to embedded software, software, networking and now back to software with a keen interest in programmable hardware.
